Bestseller

The bestseller symbol for a product shows you that it is a bestseller, that is, a product that we sell very often in the price class. We will test the products in detail and evaluate them with our team in order to give you the best possible recommendations in hockey equipment. Who would like to order a hockey complete equipment, should best put together his products. If your selected ice hockey equipment also has an additional icon "our tip" or "pro-tip", you make everything right.

600D

When polyester is labeled 600D, it is a reference to the denier or fineness of the material's fiber. Denier is used to evaluate nylon, silk, polyester and some other artificial fibers. The denier number refers to the weight in grams of 9,000 meters of the fiber in question.

Fibers with lower denier numbers are more fine than those with high numbers, and fibers with higher numbers are stronger. However, it is not possible to measure denier across fabrics. In other words, while a 600D polyester fabric is stronger than a 450D polyester fabric, it is not as strong as a 450D nylon fabric, because nylon is inherently a stronger fiber than polyester.

Butterfly Style

In ice hockey, "butterfly style" is a technique of goaltending. The butterfly style derives its name from the resemblance of the spread goal pads and hands to a butterfly's wings. The butterfly style is contrasted with a stand-up style, where most shots are shot with the goaltender on his or her feet. Many factors helped make it a de facto standard style of play today, including the popularization of the goalie mask by Jacques Plante, Vladislav Tretiak's outstanding performance at the 1972 Canada-USSR Summit Series, the National Hockey League (NHL) emergence of Tony Esposito in the 1970s and Patrick Roy in the 1980s, Warren Strelow, Benoit and François Allaire. There are few who exclusively employ a stand-up style in the NHL. 1

Although it is effective and popular among the two, the butterfly style can not be ignored. The modern "profly" is most popular by Roy and is the most widely used and taught style.

XRD® Extreme Impact

How does XRD® Extreme Impact Protection Work?

Like all PORON® microcellular products, XRD® Technology is open cell, breathable and is easily customized and incorporated in a variety of designs. The XRD® protection difference is especially apparent at high speed impact. The soft contouring material instantly dissipates force upon impact – absorbing up to 90% of energy at high speed impact.*

XRD® Material gets its softness when at rest while above the “glass transition temperature” (Tg) of the urethane molecules. When stressed at a high rate or impacted quickly, the Tg of the material reaches the point when the urethane momentarily "freezes" - like water freezing into ice. When this happens, the material firms to form a comfortable protective shell that shields the body from impact better than other protective foams currently available. On the measure that matters most – absorbing more impact energy at higher speeds – we kill the competition. Need we say more?

*as measured according to ASTM-F1614-C

TeXtreme Technology

AGILITY MEETS DURABILITY

Our lightest stick ever means your quickest shot ever. And built with TeXtreme® Technology, the carbon fiber is 20% lighter than conventional carbon fiber, so it retains its quickness without sacrificing durability.

TeXtreme® Spread Tow carbon reinforcements are using spread tows to produce optimized reinforcements for ultra light composites.

Spreading tows (yarns) into very thin tapes enables reinforcements in woven structure as well as unidirectional tapes with mechanical performance and possibility for weight savings that are unique compared to conventional reinforcements.

SPREADING CARBON FIBER TOWS INTO TAPES

The Spread Tow UD tapes produced are much thinner than conventional carbon fiber tapes and have more material packed in the same area which gives better mechanical performance.

These Spread Tow tapes are then used as they are as local reinforcements etc. or used to weave the novel TeXtreme® Spread Tow fabrics.

The patented TeXtreme® Spread Tow fabrics are then used by companies manufacturing composite products found in: bicycles, Formula 1, NASCAR, surfing, golf shafts, ice hockey, aerospace, industrial and Americas Cup.

37.5 Technologie Information

What It is

The most demanding outdoor apparel and footwear brands in the world rely on 37.5® Technology to make their products perform better. 37.5 active particle technology captures and releases moisture vapor to maintain the optimum relative humidity in your microclimate, which helps your body more efficiently maintain an ideal core temperature. The result? Increased comfort and enhanced performance.

Fabrics with 37.5TM Technology

In fabrics with 37.5 technology, patented active particles permanently embedded at the fiber level capture and release moisture vapor. Not only do these active particles provide 800% more surface area to the fiber, they also provide a unique driving force to remove moisture vapor unlike any other technology. By actively responding to body heat, the particles use this energy from the body to accelerate the vapor movement and speed up the conversion of liquid to vapor, significantly increasing drying rates. This means the hotter the user gets, the stronger the driving force removing moisture becomes—and the more comfortable the garment remains.

Cocona fabrics work brilliantly alone, but the performance gets even better when layered—the whole is truly greater than the sum of its parts. When base layer, mid layer, and outer layer are all made with 37.5 technology, each layer actively works together to create accelerated drying of the entire system.
A wide range of fabrics are made with 37.5 technology, and more are being created every season. Our mill partners currently offer fabrics with 37.5 technology in the following constructions:

  • Natural fibers such as Merino wool, cotton, Tencel®, etc.
  • Synthetic Knit Fabrics
  • Fleece and Softshell Fabrics
  • Woven Fabrics
  • Footwear fabrics
  • Glove insert fabrics

Breathable Waterproof Laminate Fabrics with 37.5TM Technology

Our extremely breathable polyurethane laminate fabrics with 37.5 technology have excellent moisture vapor transmission rates (MVTR) for high-performance use in outerwear, footwear, and gloves. Available in 2.5 layer and the world’s first 3.5 layer, each laminate component is optimized for highest breathability while maintaining waterproofness. We use a proprietary high-MVTR hydrophilic membrane, adhesive that’s optimized for high MVTR while maintaining durability, and a finish print with patented 37.5 active particles that use body heat to speed evaporation so you stay dry and comfortable. The result: innovative laminate fabrics that move moisture to keep you dry on the inside as well as the outside.

Insulation with 37.5TM Technology

Other insulations cannot differentiate between blocking heat transfer and blocking moisture transfer so in the process of trapping heat efficiently, they also trap moisture to create a clammy microclimate. This can limit performance due to overheating and create hazardous situations when temperatures drop during periods of rest. 37.5 Insulation solves that problem.

By managing moisture in your microclimate, 37.5 Insulation works in a wider range of situations. Without overheating caused by humidity buildup, there is no need to remove layers to cool down or dry off. You experience a new level of comfort through a wider range of activity level and temperature fluctuations.
By using our 37.5 Insulation in conjunction with 37.5 lining, the benefits of the technology increase greatly.
