The Nexus Sync 77 flex stick will replace the Nexus Geo as the top price point stick in the Nexus family.
Bauer was able to make the new Nexus Top stick 25 grams lighter than the Nexus Geo stick.
Weighing in at 365 grams, it is one of the lightest hockey sticks on the market.
The fact that so much weight could be reduced is thanks to the novel ACL-2.0 technology. Essentially, this means that the stick has thinner, higher quality carbon fiber layers processed on the inside of the stick.
This allows the layers of this stick to be combined in a more advantageous way, reducing weight- without sacrificing durability.
By reducing the weight by 25 grams, this ultimately leads to more dynamics and speed in the launch of each puck.
The second important advantage is the new Connect-Tech technology.
The Bauer GEO products have already received a lot of positive feedback, mostly related to the blade core and the puck feel on the blade. So Bauer has not changed the Sync core at all, it is still the same as the Geo products, but they have lengthened the mesh layer that both sides of the trowel currently have, and this has a positive effect on the entire shaft. Ultimately, this will improve puck feel by dampening vibrations when taking a hard pass, for example.
One final important note is that the stick has been made longer. The Bauer 77 and 87 senior flex sticks have been lengthened by two inches, going from 60 to 62 inches. The 72 flex stick, on the other hand, retains its 60-inch length as before.
