Bauer Nexus N2700 junior ice hockey stick offers some key upgrades sure to please the performance-level player who wants some excellent, high-performance features but is also interested in affordability. The Bauer Unidirectional carbon fiber, BimaX weave, and Max Balance Technology create a surprisingly high-quality feel and responsiveness in an affordable hockey stick.
R2 resin system with Unidirectional carbon fiber for durability and responsiveness
Fused two-piece construction for top-to-bottom consistency
Mid-kick flex profile for strength and versatility
Max Balance Technology for lightweight durability
BimaX 3K carbon fiber weave design for strength
The N2700 offers a comfortable, contoured feel in the hands with slightly rounded corners and concave sidewalls. The stick material is Bauer’s R2 resin system with Unidirectional carbon fiber. The Nexus sticks offer great durability and responsiveness. The N2700 is a fused, two-piece stick bound together in the Bauer logo at the bottom of the shaft, offering good consistency top to bottom.
The N2700 utilizes the Nexus Sweet Spot Technology for its mid-kick flex profile. All Nexus sticks are great for players who don’t need the quickness of the Vapor line or who don’t typically lean on and load up their shots like a Supreme-styled player—the Nexus offers the best of both sticks’ flex profiles.
The N2700 blade features the stick’s biggest upgrade with Bauer’s Max Balance Technology and Bauer’s AeroFoam I blade core technology. Stick weight is now reduced, but the stick still has all the durability and playability of a more expensive stick. The BimaX 3K carbon fiber weave is a twill design for a little more strength, durability, and puck-feel.
The Max Balance Technology also provides a 10 percent faster-releasing slap shot and a three percent faster-releasing wrist shot, two welcome and additional upgrades stemming from Bauer’s design advancements. The stick feels lighter in the hands thanks to the N2700’s raised balance point. The senior 87 flex weighs about 415 grams, a weight reduction between 15 and 25 grams from the previous generation.
